Alpine flora is rife along Skyline Divide, a long ridge on the north side of Mt. Baker that rises to the foot of Roosevelt Glacier. This plant is called false hellebore. Skyline Divide is a great day hike that offers the visitor outstanding views south to Mt. Baker, north to Excelsior Ridge and east to Mt. Shuksan. A round trip requires a nine mile effort on a distinct trail. On a summer weekend you'll have company on this popular hike.
